In order to establish, administer and manage our customers’ accounts, to provide customer service and benefits, to process account transactions and account statements, and to conduct research and analysis, we may disclose information described under the heading “Information We May Collect” to companies that work with us, including some of our affiliates*, to perform services or business operations on our behalf. We may also share this information with companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. Please be aware that these disclosures are permitted by law without your consent, and therefore the opt out choices described below will not apply to these types of disclosures.
In certain instances, we are permitted or even required to provide information about you to third parties not affiliated with us. Releasing information and making inquiries to the persons you have listed on your credit application as references, for the purposes of learning your current address and telephone number, and checking your credit and employment history and asking these lenders and/or employers about their credit experience with you. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we may share all the information described under the heading “Information We May Collect” with additional categories of nonaffiliated third parties, such as other financial service providers, insurance companies, or non-financial companies such as service organizations, retailers, travel services or direct marketers.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
If you prefer that we do not disclose non-public information about you to both affiliated and non-affiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).
If you wish to opt out of disclosures we might make to affiliates and non-affiliates, you can contact us. From time to time, we may contact you by telephone to notify you of our own products and services that you may find of value. If you prefer, you may opt out of these offers by contacting us.
Identity theft is a serious and growing problem. If someone has fraudulently used your identification to establish credit, report the incident as quickly as possible to each of the credit reporting agencies listed below and ask that a fraud report be placed on your file.
You may also check to see if any additional credit accounts have been opened without your consent. Contact the credit reporting agencies at these numbers to obtain a copy of your credit report.
